Dry King Chilli, also known as Bhoot Jolokia or Ghost Pepper, is a premium variety of dried chilli renowned for its extreme heat and distinctive flavor. Native to the northeastern regions of India, particularly Assam, Nagaland, and Manipur, this chilli is among the hottest in the world.

Key Characteristics:

  • Appearance: Wrinkled, elongated pods with a deep red to dark maroon color when dried.

  • Heat Level: Exceptionally hot, with Scoville Heat Units (SHU) ranging between 800,000 to 1,041,427 SHU.

  • Flavor Profile: Smoky, earthy, and slightly fruity undertones, making it ideal for adding both heat and depth of flavor to dishes.

  • Usage: Used in small quantities to spice up curries, sauces, pickles, chutneys, and marinades. Also popular in infused oils and spicy snacks.
